Bright Beginnings and Black History Celebrations!

Dear Madison Families,

We bid farewell to the gray skies and welcome the sunshine, which, according to the Groundhog's prediction, may usher in an early spring!

Academic Achievements and Individualized Support:

The iReady Diagnostic assessments have concluded, and teachers, in collaboration with students, will leverage this valuable data to identify and target specific academic skills for focused development. Students requiring additional support will benefit from our teachers' individualized enrichment opportunities. Please look for invitations for sessions during lunch and recess.  Ms. Reeves and Mr. Saint Cyr are creating personalized goal-setting reports for students in grades 3-6. Mark your calendars for the exciting iReady Pep Rally later this month!

Celebrating Black History Month:

Throughout February, Madison School commemorates Black History Month with engaging projects and lessons that honor African Americans' significant contributions and achievements. Here's a glimpse into the planned activities:

  • Daily Inspiration: The morning announcements will feature inspiring quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., alongside intriguing Black History Month facts.

  • Bedtime Stories: Snuggle up with your children for heartwarming Black History Month bedtime stories shared on our website.

  • Guest Readers: We welcome guest readers to share their stories and perspectives with our students throughout the month.

  • "Spirit to Overcome" Assembly: On February 26th, join us for a special assembly titled "Spirit to Overcome," celebrating the remarkable stories of Black women.

  • Afro-fusion Dance Workshop: Get ready to move! Students in grades 5 and 6 will participate in an exciting Afro-fusion dance workshop on February 28th.

  • Learning Carousel: On the same day, all students embark on a collaborative learning adventure through the Learning Carousel.

  • Take advantage of the video showcasing the event, posted on our website by March 7th.

PTO Activities:

Get ready for some fun! February marks the PTO's busiest month, with events like Candy Grams, the Sweetheart Dance, and the kick-off of the Gertrude Hawk Sale. Check the PTO Facebook page for details and join the festivities!

Staying Connected:

Do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. We are always happy to hear from you!

Sincerely,

The Madison School Team

Yours in Education,

Ms.  Volino-Reinoso
